Back to Progesterone

At my appointment Monday, my cervix had shortened a little bit more to 1.9 but now had some dynamic changes and funnelling.  I'm now on Progesterone again - no big deal because I was on it my whole first trimester.

I am trying to take it easier too.  A lot more feet up and not doing much around the house.  I've set up a weekly drop-off from Fresh Direct to avoid grocery shopping.  My shower is Saturday and then after that, I will limit my weekend activities to almost nothing.

My doctor said when I go under 1, it will be hospital bed rest for me.  I just need to keep these boys in for another 7.5 weeks (well 9.5 would be ideal but that seems like asking a lot at this point.)

I don't know - I feel like I should put myself on self-imposed bed rest now, but when I broach the subject, my doctor just doesn't bite.

The weirdest part is I still feel good.  If I felt like crap, taking it easier would feel natural.  But now it just feels like being a lazyass!

Re: Back to Progesterone

  • I'm sorry it's still shortening but I am glad they are monitoring it carefully. Hang in there a few more weeks mama and babies!

  • It is so hard to just sit around and do nothing. I was on modified bed rest for 6 weeks. The doctor said I was allowed to walk from bed to the couch and from the couch tothe bathroom and that was it. It helps if you get started on the baby book/s, read and rent movies.

I know yyour doctor hasn't put you on bed rest yet but I can definitely see how you would want to. Maybe by taking it super easy you will be able to keep from going on hospital bed rest for a little longer.

I hope those babies stay put for at least 7.5 more weeks!

  • I'm so sorry things haven't stayed put.  I'd probably be doing the same thing you're doing.  And I'm kind of surprised your doctor wouldn't go along with your idea of bed rest.  Stay cooking, babies!  So many prayers that those babies stay put for 7.5 weeks!

  • I'm rooting for you! This is so scary but it's so good you've made it this far without bed rest so far. I'm hoping the progesterone helps.
